Leave it Better Than You Found it.
There is a practice among outdoors enthusiasts: to enjoy nature and leave it better than they found it. It is a simple yet profound thought that can be implemented in many other areas.
One of the best ways to ensure success is to keep this philosophy as part of an everyday routine. To think about ways we can leave things better than we found them. We can ask ourselves questions like: “How will this person’s situation improve or be better after they meet me?”
This question can be used in a variety of situations.
How will students benefit from me teaching them?
How will visitors to my website benefit from coming to it?
How will my community benefit from my Social Media posts?
How will readers benefit from my book?
How will my clients benefit from dealing with me?
How will my children benefit from my parenting?
The list of possible questions is very long, but the point is always the same; what can we do to improve a situation and make it better than it was when we first encountered it.
If we keep this in mind as we go through life, we will probably find that it is a much easier, enjoyable and fulfilling journey.
