You Can’t Fight Nature
If someone complained about gravity, most people would think that was absurd. What possible complaint could you have about it? That it is too strong? That it makes us fall? That it surprised us by being there one day?
While these are clearly sarcastic statements, we often do this with similar things. How many times have you heard complaints about the wind, snow or the cold? As with gravity, are any of these things a surprise? It is a very well-known fact that seasons follow each other. Winter follows Fall and Spring follows Winter. You cannot fight it or change it. So what is the point of complaining about it?
This is not to say that we should just accept things passively. The things that we can change we should if we want to. There is no point in complaining about things that can be changed if we do not take action to change them. That is obvious, even if we have all done this in the past.
The point is to accept the things we cannot change, like nature, change the things we can change, and to know the difference so that we concentrate our efforts in the places that make the most impact.
