If You Are Having Trouble Setting Daily Goals, Try This Instead
The practice of setting daily goals has long been proven to be a remarkably effective tool for success. Writing out your three top goals for the day and then beginning to work on the first one immediately is an incredible way to achieve more in a day.
However, there are many people who find that this process can be difficult for them because they are unsure of what to choose as their goals and how to go about achieving them. If that is that case, rather than risk giving up in frustration, there is another technique that can be used to achieve daily progress. This process is much more basic and easier to implement but can still lead to the accomplishment of many great things during the day.
Simply choose five things that will make your day successful, however you define success. They do not have to be earth shattering goals like exercising for an hour, writing 10 pages for a new novel or contacting 50 potential new clients. They can be much simpler, like walking for 15 minutes at lunch time, reading 2 pages of an improving book or having breakfast at home rather than buying it.
The idea is to make small steps of improvement every day that will compound and the results will make us more successful, even if they are not large and difficult things to achieve. As long as we are doing something to improve THAT is progress.
To really supercharge this technique, we can also choose five things we are NOT going to do, to maintain our success. Again, these can be simple things like no desert or no coffee after a certain time.
The wonderful thing about this technique is that the steps are easily achievable, we are making progress and we can feel a sense of accomplishment as we check them off of a list as we do them.
Try this simple technique and see how powerful it really is.
